Nate Nahmias

President

Nate Nahmias

Nate has been a licensed public adjuster since 1956 and was associated with New York Public Adjusting Firms until 1972. At that time he formed Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau in Los Angeles. With over half-century of experience, he brings a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of insurance loss adjusting on the policyholder’s behalf. Nate’s specialties include large loss insurance claims focusing in commercial and residential claims, building and contents, loss of income, and business interruption calculations.

Glenn Nahmias

Vice President

Glenn Nahmias

Glenn joined Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau in September 1993 after graduating from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Like his father, Glenn is highly respected in the insurance claims business. He is a former President of CAPIA (California Association of Public Insurance Adjusters) and a member of NAPIA (National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters). Glenn is licensed in 11 states and he and the Metropolitan staff maintain impeccable relations with insurance company adjusters, who they regularly negotiate with, making it easier and simpler to reach favorable settlements quickly.

Miguel Paez

General Manager

Miguel has been a Public Adjuster since 1996. He oversees the Research and Development Department while assisting the Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau’s Vice President with direct marketing to prospective clients. Miguel has over 20 years experience in managing the direct marketing aspects of the public adjusting industry. He also speaks Spanish.

Deborah Hardy

Office Manager

Deborah is originally from Ohio, where she graduated from Lumen Cordium High School in Bedford. She proceeded to study criminal justice at Case Western Reserve University. Ms. Hardy has over 30 years’ extensive experience, knowledge and research in the legal field from her experience prior to joining the team at Metro in 2017. Deborah truly knows what it means to work hard for what you have in life, working her way from her first position as a receptionist to now finding herself as our office manager.

Scott Estrine

Senior Claims Adjuster

Prior to becoming a public insurance adjuster in August 1999, Scott served as a U.S. Army Unit Supply Specialist for a field artillery unit while stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Scott attended and graduated from several Army academy courses and was honorably discharged, receiving the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal for his service. Scott’s discipline, persistence and attention to detail are evident in the claims he adjusts. He takes great pride in the letters of recommendations he receives from clients. Scott has obtained extensive knowledge and experience needed to adjust claims effectively. He is proficient in Xactimate and is a long-time member of NAPIA.

Marc Hattenbach

Senior Loss Consultant

Marc graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism. Prior to joining Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau in 2004, Marc was with Blue Chip Inventory Service as a Director of Sales and Marketing. Prior to that, Marc served as regional marketing director for Feld Entertainment and in marketing capacities for other entertainment entities.

Matthew Foster

Claims Adjuster

Matthew is San Fernando Valley born and bred. He began his career with Metropolitan in 2017 as a research and development assistant while completing his bachelor’s degree program in business management at California State University, Northridge. Matthew has since advanced to loss recovery consultant and public adjuster apprentice before becoming a fully licensed public adjuster. Matthew continued his education at the University of California, San Diego, and received a professional certificate from their project management department. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute, Los Angeles Chapter, and holds the CAPM and PMP Certificates. Matthew remains to be an asset to our team, using his professional and educational experience to assist and benefit our clients in a variety of areas.

Edward Filian

Senior Claims Adjuster

Prior to becoming a public insurance adjuster, Edward spent most of his professional career working in the entertainment industry. After almost 20 years in the industry, Edward was looking for a change of pace and found his niche as a public insurance adjuster. Edward is Metropolitan’s executive adjuster, handling large accounts across many states as well as local losses and natural disasters. His passion for helping others in their time of need makes him an asset to the Metropolitan team. Edward is also fluent in Armenian and proficient in Russian.

Jeffrey S. Sherman

Senior Claims Adjuster

Jeffrey earned a Bachelors Degree in Economics from California State University, Northridge and was a member of the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity. Jeffery has worked in the insurance industry for over 20 years as a claims specialist, risk manager and litigation specialist. While working for State Farm Insurance for 15 years, he perfected complete claims handling including litigation. He has also worked for Farmers Insurance, Progressive Insurance and Unitrin Specialty, as well as being the litigation specialist for the country’s largest landscaping company, ValleyCrest Companies, Inc. Jeffrey also carries a license as a California broker/agent.

Nicholas Nguyen

Senior Claims Adjuster

After obtaining his Business Economic/Finance degree, Nicholas worked for large insurance companies of over 15 years. He joined Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau in January 2007. He’s successfully assisted clients in handling fire, hurricane, earthquake, flood, vandalism, theft, fire and water damage claims in the field of residential and commercial property throughout the United States. Nicholas is a member of National Association of Public Insurance Adjuster (NAPIA) and is involved with the Boy Scouts of America. He also speaks Vietnamese.

Manny Dinglas

Senior Claims Adjuster

Manny was born in the Philippines and moved to America at a young age. He grew up in Ventura County and received his double bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education and Christian Theology at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Phoenix, Arizona. He was an Elementary school teacher for several years and transitioned into the Insurance industry in 2007. He adjusted claims for multiple carriers including Mercury Insurance, State Farm, AAA of Southern California, and Ameriprise Insurance. Manny is a licensed public adjuster with professional certifications in the following; IICRC Certified (Water Restoration Technician), Xactimate Level 2 and ILX Construction Certificate.

Henry Nahabedian

Construction Consultant

Henry has been in the insurance and construction industries for over 25 years. With his educational background in engineering, Henry brings a vast knowledge base in resolving complex commercial and residential claims. Prior to joining Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau, Henry was involved in resolving major catastrophe claims around the United States. He is an experienced team player and seasoned claims adjuster with outstanding negotiation skills. During his time away from work, Henry is involved in the Armenian community in leadership positions. He also speaks Armenian, Spanish, Arabic, French, and Turkish.

Jose Arellano

Research & Development/Inventory Specialist

In 1992, Jose began working in the insurance industry with a restoration company. In 1994, Jose was recruited by a public adjusting firm to head their Research & Development department where he was also trained as a Contents Loss Recovery Consultant. He joined Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau in 2006. He also speaks Spanish.

Jose Villalpando

Loss Consultant

Jose was born and raised in Los Angeles California. He graduated from Santa Monica High School and attended Los Angeles Trade Tech where he studied Electrical Construction. In 2009, he began his career with a Water Damage Company. He started at the bottom as a laborer and quickly moved up within the company to become a Lead Technician and Project Manager. As a Project Manager, Jose specialized in Water, Sewage, and Mold Remediation. He handled all the large contracts and clients such as Boeing, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman. Jose is now a Public Adjuster and specializes in fire and water damage claims. Jose is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Christine M. Zapp

Client/Bank Liaison

Christine is a native of Southern California, born in Indio. From an early age, she was involved in community service and enjoyed knowing that she was contributing to making a positive difference. She moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1990’s where she joined the entertainment industry. Through her years of experience and training, client service has always been a main focus. She joined Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau in 2020. Christine applies her education and experience assisting and working closely with the homeowners and mortgage companies throughout the insurance claim process as it pertains to the loss drafts. From beginning to end she is committed to providing professional service. Christine is a Notary Public.

Jackie Ayuso

Administrative Assistant/ Accounts Receivable

Jackie graduated from Littlerock High School and has been in the customer service business for over 10 years. She began her career with Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau in 2021 as an administrative assistant/accounts receivable. She assists the public adjusters in the processing of claim checks and paperwork associated with the claims process. She is looking forward to growing with Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau.

Maria Patricia Valderrama

Administrative Assistant

‘Patty’ graduated from Our Lady of Loretto High School. She worked in computer sales for six years before joining Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau in 2005. She has also worked with Univision Television setting airtime. She also speaks Spanish.
